The map depicts a cross section of the Harz mountain range between Halberstadt and Nordhausen in central Germany. The highest peak, Broken, is marked as well as many other mountains such as Kohnstein, Kaulberg, Poppenberg, Sägemühlen, Rehberg, Achtermanshöhe, Ilsenstein, Regenstein and Hoppelberg. All indicating their individual hight. A building is marked at the top of Brocken and on the north slopes we find Schloss Blankenburg. The course of the river Ilse is highlighted very schematicly with a straight line. On the south side a limit on how high bears go is depicted. Below the map there are fourteen colour codes representing different rock types corresponding with the colours at the map. Unclear in what context the map was published. Creator unknown to me.
