Grav: på Borgmästaren Sefströms Kostnad. J. Snack Sc. 1782. Engraved by Snack in 1782. This is a later impression from the early 1800s. Plate mark 16,5 x 20,5 cm.Frame 32,5 x 35 cm. Gilt frame. Passe partout with hand coloured border around the cut out. Fine condition.
A view of the Stockholm Opera House. This plate was planned to be a part of the never published work "Holmia illustrata". The plate was engraved at the expense of the Mayor of Halmstad Erik C. Säfström. Snack was a talented engraver who learned his skills as a pupil to Per Floding and at the Art Academy. He died young, only 31 one years old in 1787. Printed on wove paper.
